Future generations will most likely divide the timeline of history at this point: when Quake 3 achieved motion-sensing, wireless network play on two iPod touches. Just think, less than a year ago we were salivating (or at least mildly enthused) at the prospect of rocking Doom on this thing, and now Quake 3 Arena is yours for the taking — or at least will be once we get any sort of hard info on this app.

Have you ever hung out with someone discussing music, when you both realize that you each have songs the other want? If you’re not near a computer, then there’s really no good way to share your music. However, with the miShare you can just hook up your iPods and swap tracks to your heart’s content.

The miShare is a simple little device with two 30-pin dock connectors that will work with most iPods 3G and up (unfortunately not the iPod Touch or iPhone). Connect both iPods and press the button to transfer the last song (or video) played. Hold down the button and your entire ‘On-The-Go’ playlist gets copied.

Some might argue the legal implications of this device, however, I’m confident that anyone using this would only be swapping non-copyrighted material. The miShare will set you back by $99, which means you’d better be exchanging a lot of music, otherwise that’s 100 songs that you could legally download from iTunes. Just a little food for thought.

Apple has just announced “new” iPod touch. It has 32GB of capacity. The good thing of this iPod is that the storage is NOT hard drive, but is flash memory; therefore, the battery may last longer than hard drive based MP3 player with 32GB.

The con side, apple still stick with 802.11 b/g WiFi device. Why not 802.11 n??? I’ve been using 11 n wireless network with my Macbook Pro for about 3 week and it gives amazing speed at 900 kbps!!! (I am almost forgetting how fast was the net in Tokyo…. I miss optical fiber cable)

I probably get this if they had at least 60GB of flash memory…

When you’re on the bus or subway, or anywhere that people tend to be sitting for long periods you tend to notice that many of them are listening to MP3 players. What’s more is that you can almost always pick out the ones rocking out to an iPod by their iconic white earbuds. Most people I know that carry an iPod still use the same earbuds that came with the player because they like the way they look and sound. Well if you’re one that likes the look, here’s a giant pair you can sit on your desktop.

Yes, these are extremely cheesy, but I suppose if you’re a huge Apple fanatic you might be proud to have them sitting on your desk. If you’re wondering, these are actually 500 times the size of your regular iPod earbuds. They draw their power from either your computer’s USB port or from a standard wall outlet. No word on pricing or availability.

iPod shuffle

I have just got my new iPod shuffle this morning.

It has 1GB capacity which can hold up to 240 songs and silver aluminium enclosure.

My first impression, honestly, the size is incredibly small BUT that is all about it.

I’ve been using second generation iPod nano for almost one year and it’s still solid, so what’s the point to have new iPod which can not play video?
