I would like to introduce one of the most common cuisine in Japan, ramen (ラーメン), Japanese style noodles in soup. It’s originally came from China, but today, ramen is fully optimized to Japanese people. Most of my friends from China say that ramen is Japanese food.
I think most of you go to Tokyo (which is my hometown) while you are visiting Japan, so I post one of the most famous ramen restaurants in Tokyo. Musashi (武蔵) is good one to start your ramen life.

Musashi’s basic ramen specification:
Soup base: chicken stock
Type of noodle: flat and thick
Soup flavor: Soy source
Toppings: char siu, sungan, green onions, dried laver seaweed, and boiled-flavored egg
cost: approx $10 (depends what you order)
Musashi is located in Shinjuku area which is one of the business and cultural cores of Tokyo, so you could visit several spots in this area and have lunch or dinner at Musashi.
I have to note a small caution; because Musashi is so famous in Japan, you may experience a huge lineup to get in, but it’s part of Japanese culture so don’t be frustrated.
Location: 7-2-6 Nishi-shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo (about 3 minutes walk from JR Shinjuku station). Here is a map.
